The SFO at Lycée Français Prins Henrik
The SFO is an integral part of the educational experience at Lycée Français Prins Henrik. It is a distinct pedagogical environment where children can develop socially, personally, emotionally and creatively beyond the structures of formal teaching. Inspired by the principles of Danish SFO pedagogy, the afternoon offers free play, free choice, participation, building relations, creativity and developing independence.
The pedagogical team create and protect the conditions in which children can play, belong, participate, explore and develop. Free choice does not mean that children are left on their own: pedagogues observe, listen and remain available, stepping in to guide, encourage, structure, challenge or protect when needed.

Service Project for the SFO for Children Aged 6 to 9
History of the SFO at Lycée Français Prins Henrik:
The SFO (Skole Fritids Ordning) at Lycée Français Prins Henrik is an after-school program for children aged 6 to 9. It was established in 1994 to meet the needs of parents who wanted to provide their children with a safe, stimulating, and enjoyable space after school hours. Over the years, the SFO has become an essential part of the school, offering children an environment that supports their overall development and personal growth.
Core Values:
Learning through play: We believe in learning through play and encourage children to explore, experiment, and develop their natural curiosity.
Inclusion: We value diversity and are committed to providing an inclusive environment where every child feels accepted and respected.
Kindness: We promote a culture of kindness, encouraging empathy, mutual respect, and cooperation.
Safety: The safety of children is our top priority. We implement appropriate safety measures to ensure their physical and emotional well-being.
Responsibility: We encourage children to take responsibility and develop autonomy within a well-defined framework.
Open communication: We value transparent and open communication with parents, teachers, and children to ensure effective and harmonious collaboration.
Description of Our Target Group – Children Aged 6 to 9:
Our target group consists of children aged 6 to 9 attending Lycée Français Prins Henrik. This is a crucial stage in their development, where they acquire new cognitive, social, emotional, linguistic, and motor skills. They are curious, energetic, and eager to explore the world around them.
We recognize the importance of providing a stimulating and safe environment that fosters their growth. Our program is designed to meet their specific needs, offering a variety of activities that encourage learning, creativity, friendship, and the development of social and civic skills.
We strive to create a sense of belonging and build positive relationships with each child. We encourage individual and cultural expression and promote self-esteem by recognizing their talents and achievements.
Summary:
In short, our SFO service project at Lycée Français Prins Henrik aims to provide an inclusive, caring, and stimulating environment for children aged 6 to 9. We are committed to offering a space where they can grow, learn, and thrive in a balanced way, cognitively, socially, and emotionally.
